Florida remains a dense Part 141 training state — verify weather and airspace locally

Last updated September 1, 2026

Source: NWS Miami

Florida shows up often when students compare training locations: many Part 141 campuses, year-round flying weather on average, and busy training airspace around Daytona Beach, Orlando, Miami, and Jacksonville.

This note is FlightSchoolIntel editorial, not a forecast. We will not invent VFR-day counts or claim Florida is “always flyable.” Convective season, sea-breeze storms, and hurricane watches are real. Check current products from the National Weather Service for the metro you will actually fly in.

How to use a Florida school page

  • Confirm the airport association on the profile (we only name an ICAO when we have one)
  • Ask about summer convective cutoffs and winter fog, not just “good weather”
  • International students should still start with TSA AFSP, regardless of state
