FlightSchoolIntel tags schools as Part 141 when that flag is present in our FAA-sourced listing. Part 141 is a real regulation, published at 14 CFR part 141.
Part 141 schools operate FAA-approved training courses with specified curriculum, facilities, and chief-instructor requirements. Part 61 is the person-centric certification rule that many smaller instructors use without a 141 school certificate.
What Part 141 does not mean
- It does not lock a tuition number
- It does not mean every course on the website is a 141-approved course
- It does not replace checking the specific ratings you need (PPL, instrument, commercial, CFI)
This directory will not invent “141 vs 61 winner” rankings. Use the regulation, then compare individual schools on location, ratings, and life-fit. This item is an editorial sample citing eCFR.
